Research approach



 

Carbon Bee AgTech offers agronomic imaging solutions dedicated to plant health. The use of a hyperspectral sensor coupled with signal processing software based on Deep Learning created by Carbon Bee makes it possible to accurately measure plant health.
To achieve this degree of precision, it is necessary to stick to the problems of the field, to local specificities: the type of crop, the soil and climate conditions, the cultivation processes used...

> Two complementary research teams are operational:
- Carbon Bee AgTech[agronomic subsidiary] deploys agronomic research engineering in partnership with laboratories and future users of its solutions in order to calibrate them to the specific needs of each user and use,
- Carbon Bee[parent company] is implementing an Artificial Intelligence research team specialising in Deep Learning (a sub-sector of Machine Learning). Its design office in electronics, optronics and digital, for its part, continues research and development on the elements of the solutions that concern it.

> Two research activities are carried out:
- fundamental research allowing to be in a process of innovation and continuous development on all the solutions proposed, the shots, the treatments: learning, inference...
- applied research, on the specific case of the partner/customer, as part of a feasibility study, to verify the ability to address the need, obtaining the expected results and calibrate the solutions as accurately as possible.

Rose - ANR challenge



 

The ROSE challenge « RObotique et capteurs au Service d'Ecophyto » comes from the ANR, the French National Research Agency, in partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture and Ecological and Solidarity Transition.
This call for projects made it possible to select 4 research projects in order to think about the sustainable agriculture of tomorrow by making the most of digital capacities. The aim is to implement innovative tehcnological solutions on the monitoring and protection of plant health status. The initial question is how can we better onitor and intervene to reduce input while taking account farmers constraints.
>
> The PEAD project "PErception et binage autonome des cultures en Agriculture Durable" in which Carbon Bee and Carbon Bee AgTech actively participate, has as its primary goal to move and test work for a reduction of inputs in autonomy by mixing robotics and detection and then interpretation for targeted actions. Starting from fundamental research, it will be applied in the field in real conditions and in real time, to integrate the solutions.

> Carbon Bee and Carbon Bee AgTech contribute to the automatic detection and recognition of plants in order to establish precise multi-scale mapping using artificial intelligence. This mapping allows us to sharpen the precision of actions.
