A purpose-built sprayer range designed specifically for integration with Carbon Bee’s system has been highly commended in the 2026 Henty Machine of the Year Award.
Wagga Wagga based agricultural manufacturer Stoll Boomsprays debuted its new CB Series sprayers at Henty, allowing growers to accurately target weeds within growing crops while significantly reducing chemical use.
The coveted award was presented at the field days on September 22 and judged by an independent panel of growers.
The CB Series is a dedicated range of machines developed in partnership with Carbon Bee and ARAG to deliver advanced green-on-green weed detection capability for broadacre growers.
While weed detection technology has increasingly been fitted to existing sprayers as a retrofit solution, Stoll’s is the first manufacturer to release a purpose-built sprayer range designed specifically for integration with Carbon Bee’s system.
The new CB Series integrates Carbon Bee’s weed detection technology with Stoll’s proven sprayer platform and ARAG spray control systems.
The range includes six models — CB3, CB4, CB5, CB6, CB8 and CB10 — representing tank capacities from 3000 to 10,000 litres.
Stoll’s Director Jarrod Stoll described the feedback on the sprayer at Henty as “tremendous”.
“There is a lot of interest in this camera technology in the ag scene. Everyone is keen to see what the future is looking like in spraying,” Mr Stoll said.
“That future is trying to place chemical where it is needed so the spot spray systems are getting a lot better doing green-on-brown. Now Carbon Bee systems is green-on-green, more efficient and with huge chemical savings.
“The technology is reasonably pricey but farmers are still seeing big savings and are reporting they are spraying down to eight per cent of the paddock.”
Mr Stoll pointed to grower concerns around new chemical regulations driving interest in the technology.
ARAG Australia, based in Adelaide, signed a partnership with Carbon Bee to distribute the product in Australia.
The CB Series had a soft launch in August at Eyre Peninsula Field Days, South Australia, before being unveiled to the NSW market at the Henty Machinery Field Days.
“We are a company who takes the view of staying in our own lane. To be recognised on this level makes the hard work worthwhile,” Mr Stoll said.
“Henty is a really good field day with a lot of families here. Being a local business we look forward to catching up with clients.”
The Carbon Bee system uses high-resolution cameras and artificial intelligence to identify weeds within actively growing crops in real time.
Individual nozzles are activated only when weeds are detected, allowing operators to spray precisely where needed while reducing unnecessary chemical application.
“While many systems are currently installed as retrofits, we saw an opportunity to develop a sprayer platform that is designed from the outset to work with Carbon Bee’s technology,” Mr Stoll said.
“By integrating the system into a dedicated machine, we’re able to deliver a cleaner installation, improved reliability and a sprayer that is purpose-built for this style of targeted application.
“And by teaming the Carbon Bee System with ARAG’s Flowtron PWM System we retain the ability to also blanket spray/spray conventionally”.
